What reporting is for

TIBS reporting lets users share safety and service concerns they observe in public transport. Reports help support:
  • commuter awareness
  • transport safety visibility
  • route and corridor insight
  • follow-up review within the platform

What a report can include

Depending on the situation, a report may include:
  • a vehicle plate or public vehicle code
  • the type of issue being reported
  • the time and approximate location
  • route or corridor context
  • optional notes or extra detail
Some reports can be submitted without a confirmed vehicle when the issue is about the road or surrounding conditions rather than a specific matatu.

What happens after submission

After a report is submitted, it may be used to:
  • support incident summaries
  • appear in vehicle and corridor context
  • contribute to wider transport-safety visibility
  • support moderation and review within TIBS

Good reporting rules

  • report what you personally observed
  • keep details accurate and relevant
  • avoid personal attacks or abusive language
  • do not include unnecessary personal information

Important limitation

Submitting a report through TIBS does not make it an official legal finding or government record. TIBS is an information platform and reports may still be reviewed, updated, or limited in visibility.
