# Reports

> How riders and contributors submit incident and service reports

## What reporting is for

TIBS reporting lets users share safety and service concerns they observe in
public transport.

Reports help support:

* commuter awareness
* transport safety visibility
* route and corridor insight
* follow-up review within the platform

## What a report can include

Depending on the situation, a report may include:

* a vehicle plate or public vehicle code
* the type of issue being reported
* the time and approximate location
* route or corridor context
* optional notes or extra detail

Some reports can be submitted without a confirmed vehicle when the issue is
about the road or surrounding conditions rather than a specific matatu.

## What happens after submission

After a report is submitted, it may be used to:

* support incident summaries
* appear in vehicle and corridor context
* contribute to wider transport-safety visibility
* support moderation and review within TIBS

## Good reporting rules

* report what you personally observed
* keep details accurate and relevant
* avoid personal attacks or abusive language
* do not include unnecessary personal information

## Important limitation

Submitting a report through TIBS does not make it an official legal finding or
government record. TIBS is an information platform and reports may still be
reviewed, updated, or limited in visibility.
